Situated just outside of the town of Höfn on the south east coast of Iceland, this image captures the natural beauty of the Vestrahorn Mountains across the black ash sand dunes of the Stokksnes peninsula.
This vast and dramatic landscape experiences weather that can change by the minute - an hour before this image was captured the mountains were covered in cloud with very poor visibility across the dunes.
This place has been a location that I have wanted to visit since seeing images online a few years ago. Luckily I had the chance to visit during my recent trip touring the south coast of this amazing country.
Standing on these dunes, listening to the North Atlantic waves pounding the coastline whilst black sand blew across the landscape, was an awesome experience and one which I will remember for many years to come.
