Because this photo wasn't planned, I relied entirely on the natural light from the sun coming in through the windows. Really, I think because of the attitude and emotion of the photo and the day, the natural light complimented his expressions perfectly.Equipment
This was a Canon Rebel TiInspiration
My husband (the subject of the photo) and I have been through a giant shift in our lives by moving from Indiana to Arizona. It's been exhausting. Through everything, he has been the only stable part of my life, and I adore him. Typically it doesn't take much from him to inspire me, but that afternoon I saw a restfulness that I hadn't seen in months, and I was simply happy to be in that very moment -- a moment I'm thankful to have captured.Editing
I'm not a professional just yet, so processing photos has yet to be in my skill arsenal! In my camera bag
I don't have much gear, so my bag has my camera (Canon Rebel Ti), a 50mm f/1.2L, and a200mm f/2.8L.Feedback
Really get used to your manual settings and playing around a bit before getting your perfect shot. When using natural light, it's all about the aperture, iso, and shutter speed. Don't be afraid to change things around a few times and having a few photos that don't turn out at all! I tend to choose the higher shutter because I like a more focused aperture when I'm doing portraits.
