That photo is incredible!
I saw a water photography artist a while back, I know how much patience it takes to get a shot like this one. How did you do it?

Amazing! So creative. This photo truly makes one stop contemplate and think about the composition and the skill it took to catch this photo!

Location
The photograph was taken in my kitchen at home - I am completely self-taught photographer and with any type of water or milk drop shots every photo is a lesson :-)Time
This was taken one evening whilst my beautiful fiancee was putting our newborn son to bed.Lighting
Two neewer speed lights were used at 1/32 power. they were angled towards to milk, and goes to show you do not need high speed sync speed lights for this type of photography. With a bit of persistance low end gear works fine.Equipment
This was shot on a D7100 - Sigma 105 - Monfrotto Tripod - Shutter release cable - 2 neewer speed lights - and a canon lens mug to hold the milk :-)Inspiration
I have seen splash art on facebook and wanted to try it out. I started by buying an old wine decanter from our local charity store before I got more serious with the techniques :-)Editing
I did a tiny bit of cloning and contrast tweaking in light room. There were a few stray milk particles and contrast tweaked to help make the image pop.In my camera bag
Well my D7100 and 150-500mm sigma very rarely see the inside of my bag. 9/10 times they are in my hand and the rest of my gear is in there. As standard I carry a tripod, shutter release, 10-24mm nikon wide angle, 105mm sigma, 50mm nikon, 18-200mm nikon and spare batteries and cards. All this fits nicely in a lowepro 400aw.Feedback
For splash art the main tip is patience. If you get stressed or try to rush it just wont happen - try adjusting your height of the drops, try different fluids - for my cravendale semi-skimmed milk works a treat! Also remember to switch your vibration reduction off if using a tripod - I learned that the hard way.
