Location
This photo was taken in a small Muslim village about 2 hours outside of Delhi, India.Time
Late afternoonLighting
She was in a shop stall, so I had natural light shining on her face from outside, and the inside of the stall was fairly dark.Equipment
Nikon D800 with 24-70 f/2.8 lens. Nothing else.Inspiration
We stopped due to a flat tire, and as the repair was being made, my girlfriend and I took a walk into the village. The entire village welcomed us, even though they spoke almost no English, and we spoke no Hindi. After taking a few photos of some of the people in one of the small shop stalls, this little girl came up and just smiled like she wanted her photo taken. Her friends found this quite amusing, but I snapped a few shots of her, and this is one of my favorite shots from the trip.Editing
I did some cropping to get the composition to exactly where I wanted it, as it was taken somewhat on the fly. Some tonal adjustments, but not much else.In my camera bag
My D800 with the 24-70 lens, and a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. Sometimes I'll carry my flash and a Gary Fong diffuser.Feedback
Always be exploring, and ready to shoot! You really never know what kinds of situations or people you might encounter.
