I know that bridge, it is Porto! I was born there

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my hometown - Porto, Portugal. This is the most iconic area of Porto with our old bridge "D.Luis I", that was built by Gustav Eiffel, creator of course, of the Eiffel tower in Paris.

Time

I took this shot around 10pm

Lighting

Lighting is sketchy and hard to capture because there are areas in the city with almost no light and others with too much yellow. Therefore i'd say this picture is much better looking in black&White

Equipment

Canon 5D, i think i might have used my 16-35mm F2.8 and a tripod.

Inspiration

Usually photographers go to this famous spot and take the same picture all the time. This is a different prespective and i thought it looked nice and different from the usual work that is done here.

Editing

i did a little bit of post processing in lightroom, just to enhance details and shadows.

In my camera bag

I switched from Canon to fuji and i completely surrendered to a Xt1. I usually carry a 18-135 for all around photography during the day and i complement that with a Samyang 12mm F2 and a Samyang 85mm F1.4 for portraits

Feedback

don't leave your tripod at home just cause it's a hassle to carry around. Once you commit, you'll find that the results and things you can capture lead to much better results, specially at night.
