Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken looking at Blue Canyon is South Africa.

Time

It was taken about mid day.

Lighting

It was a very overcast day so I put on my IR filter and went for a long exposure to try and capture some movement.

Equipment

Canon 5d mark iii with 24-105mm lens and an IR filter.

Inspiration

I have always enjoyed experimenting with black and white long exposure shots and I find using an IR filter a great way to achieve interesting effects.

Editing

Converted the IR image into black and white and increased the clarity.

In my camera bag

Canon 5d mark iii, 24-105mm, 105mm macro, 100-400mm, flash gun, remote trigger, manfrotto tripod, IR filter, polariser filter.

Feedback

Always use a tripod, set the camera to black and white so you can get a vague idea as to how it will look and shoot in raw.
