This must have been set up as a period shoot...judging from the ladies' clothes and hats....even the luggage is very Last Century. Tell me more about where it was shot and how you managed it. I just LOVE this image !

Location
This photo was taken at the terminus of the picturesque Dartmouth Steam Railway , Kingswear Station , Devon, UK .Time
The photo was taken on a dark and stormy night one October evening.Lighting
The scene was staged by a professional re-enactment company "TimeLine Events" who provided the lights and the period re-enactors.Equipment
This photo was shot on my Canon 5D mkII with a 24-70MM L lens. The exposure was about 8 seconds long and was mounted on a tripod.Inspiration
I shoot a variety of subjects , but I keep coming back to steam railways. They have multiple aspects , the people , the landscape , the architecture and of course the steam. Between shoots I spend my time looking at vintage photos and film so that I can get a better feel for a time when everyone was connected by the railways.Editing
I always process my photos in light-room before bringing out the details in another application. This images was processed during my Nik phase using Nik Silver Efex Pro. Still a great bit of software, especially as it is free, however, I now use Macphun Tonality Pro as it is a lot faster and allows me to be even more creative. In my camera bag
If I am out and about you will find a Canon 100D in my kitbag , I love it and it is fun camera to play with. If I am heading out for a day , or a week, of photography then I will take my 5D and 7D one with a wide angle and the other with a telephoto.Feedback
I am a firm believer in knowing your subject , whether its animals , landscapes or steam engines. I find a little research on your subject can help you bring out some of the smaller details others might miss.
