Behind The Lens

Location

Taken on the east coast of Australia in a small surf town called Yamba.

Time

This was shot a little after sunset, as a last minute idea. My sunset shot I had planned didn't work out as I'd hoped.

Lighting

I used a 2.5 sec shutter speed to capture the lighting and my phone with the flashlight function in my left hand for lighting up the map.

Equipment

I used a tripod, self timer with a 2.5 sec shutter speed, ISO 100 with the fixed 24mm lens.

Inspiration

This photo shows my trip round Australia on the map at one of my favourite destination with a type of view I became very accustomed to. Just for fun really.

Editing

I used Lightroom to bring out the shadows and sharpen the image. I then used photoshop to mark out the route on the map.

In my camera bag

Wide angle, telephoto, and fixed 50. Tripod, shutter remote and 3 filters. A 7 stop, 10 stop and UV Filter. I lost my 4 stop on the great ocean road.

Feedback

You'd probably get a better shot, but just have fun playing around with the shitter speeds, lightings, and my favourite... The view. Probably easier to get someone to pose for you and take the shots yourself instead of jumping up and down to the tripod over and over again...
