Location
I work with disabled adults. We were playing name that tune and I wanted to capture the "retroness" , if you will, of the vinyl and old school record player.Time
This was midday inside where there was a good amount of light.Lighting
I was lucky because although i was inside there was ample lighting available.Equipment
I did not have a tri-pod with me so I gave myself a little pep talk to take a deep breath and hold her steady :) I shoot with a Sony a65.Inspiration
I have a great love for all things retro and antique. The record player i was using was from an elementary school from the 50's. It is on it's last leg and I just felt the urge to capture it in working order.Editing
I did a little post-processing by blurring the edges a little as I felt it distracted the eye from focusing at the player and record. In my camera bag
I like to keep three lenses with me including a zoom and a fixed lens. I keep my tri-pod in my vehicle. I like to have a neutral density filter as well as a polarizing filter on hand. I use other ones at times too, it just depends on what I am planning on shooting.Feedback
I would say the more passionate you are of the subject, the better your chances are of getting that shot you have envisioned. That is true with me anyhow.
