Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at my home studio near London

Time

In the morning, but I had the blinds pulled down on the windows!

Lighting

I used one studio light to the left of the model and a reflector infront.

Equipment

This is one of the first images that I ever took in a studio. I used my first lens, the 24-70, and my nikon 700 which I still adore! Also a hair drier for the wind!!

Inspiration

I have always loved dark, moody, natural portraits. The wind didn't come to me until I saw the girl and her beautiful hair. I knew that it had to be a big part of the final image.

Editing

I always upload to lightroom and do the basics (exposure, colour balance etc). After I took it into photoshop and added a textured layer for the background as I felt it needed something extra.

In my camera bag

My 50mm & 85mm come everywhere with me! With my Nikon 750.

Feedback

It's very basic really. All you need is a dark background (this one was a grey paper). A studio light and a model with long, beautiful hair. And the most important thing, a hair drier!!
