Behind The Lens

Location

In San Francisco, at a client's home.

Time

Mid day when the light was stronger.

Lighting

Since the light was so strong I had to use a reflector to fill in the cat's left side.

Equipment

I used my old camera Nikon D90 with a 24-70mm 2.8 lens. I only work with natural light so no flash.

Inspiration

I saw the work of Peter Samuels. He photographed 2 Sphynx cats and I loved how they looked. So I searched for 2 sphynx cats in San Francisco. When I finished the photo shoot, the owner told me that another photographer took photos of her 2 cats before. This photographer was Peter Samuels! Crazy.

Editing

Yes I did. I removed all the background in Photoshop using a brush. Otherwise you could see the couch and the tv. Not very glamourous.

In my camera bag

My Canon 5d Mark III + 50mm 1.4, 35mm 1.4, 85mm 1.8, 24-70mm 2.8 A reflector Squeakers and dog treats :) And my MUST HAVE: knee pads!
