Great concept and strong imagery blended with the softness of the fish swimming....very cool.

This photo was taken in my parents bathtub! I randomly showed up to the house with my camera, my sister, and a bag of goldfish, luckily they were up for another one of my crazy ideas!Time
This photo was taken mid day! I had woken up and started going about my day not even thinking that a photo shoot was about to happen, let alone one of my most awarded photos of my photography career thus far.Lighting
The main source of light in this photo was natural light, with a little help from a single light tree. I chose this bathtub because its surrounded by windows and lets a lot of natural light in, which I am most comfortable shooting with.Equipment
This was shot on a canon 10d, 50 mm f/1.8 lens. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
I had been wanting to do a bathtub shoot for a long time but I wasn't necessarily sure how I wanted to go about it. I had seen the milk bath done and flowers in the water so I really wanted to do something unique and outside the box! The idea popped into my head to use live fish but still have a model with a striking face be the focus of the photo which just so happens to me my beautiful little sister!Editing
I did a lot of post processing to darken the overall feel of the image. The original photo has the model wearing an orange top and orange lipstick to match the fish, but after I posted the original edit of the photo with the bright colors, I felt that it needed to be taken to the next level, and thats when i decided to darken the lips and the top and it ended up making the photo 100x more striking than the original! In my camera bag
I haven't had the funds to update a whole lot of my equipment or even buy very many lenses, but I have learned to roll with it and prove that you don't need the best and most expensive equipment to get a great image. I carry my Canon 10d, along with a 50 mm f/1.8 prime, 35 mm f/2.0 prime, and an 85 mm f/1.8 prime, and then a canon speed lite 430exiiFeedback
My first piece of advice would be to make sure you have ALOT of goldfish. Since they are small they tended to want to swim down near the models feet or even into little crevices where they were hidden and made it harder to get the shot. Also make sure the bathtub is surrounded by natural light or make sure you have good studio lighting that way you won't get the harshness of using flash.
