Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken from the only rose bush in my yard. I am an amateur, self taught photographer. Having a hectic schedule and the demands of work and family life, I cherish every chance that I can get to spend time on my photography.

Time

Walking to my car one Saturday morning (mid morning),on my way to my car, the light on this particular flower happened to catch my eye. I just couldn't let it go, so, I went back inside, grabbed my camera and snapped a few shots before leaving on my errands.

Lighting

The lighting on this flower was just right on that morning. I would say that is what caught my eye.

Equipment

I used my Nikon D750 with a Nikon 28-300mm Lens which I only acquired a few months ago and which I'm still getting to know. I was in a bit of a hurry so, the photo was taken without the use of a tripod.

Inspiration

I would say that it was probably the way the light was shining on this particular flower that caught my eye.

Editing

I did do some processing in Photomatix Pro and Photosuite

In my camera bag

I have two camera bags. The bigger of the two bags has my Nikon D90 with the 18-300mm Lens attached,a Wide Angle and Macro Lens spare cards, spare battery, and a tripod. The smaller bag has my Nikon D750 with the 28-300mm attached, a spare battery and card and Monopod

Feedback

I don't think that you can ever take too many photos. Speaking for myself, I enjoy landscape and macro photography and I always have a camera handy. A Coolpix in my handbag..even when I'm going to work as you never know when you may find something interesting to shoot. On the weekend if I'm going anywhere, I usually grab my Nikon D90 with my Nikon 18-300 Lens (which I find very versatile) and now that I have just acquired a Nikon D750, I will be hard to decide which to take . Maybe alternating them will be the way to go.
