Behind The Lens

Location

This image was shot at Ahrax tal-Mellieha in Malta. It is a natural cave formation, seen from above looks like a crater.

Time

It was shot during sunrise in winter, approximately 7:00am

Lighting

As regards to lighting, it was shot using natural light, with the combination of filters to darken the sky, polariser to remove the glare and enhance the colour in the rocks.

Equipment

Camera body : Nikon D800, Lens: 24-70mm 2.8, Tripod : Manfrotto 055PRO B : Filters : LEE filter kit, 1.2ND soft Grad, 105mm Polariser, Big stopper

Inspiration

I am always on the hunt for rock formations. This was part of a list of places to visit. The rocks are very sharp and dangerous to walk on. Worth it.

Editing

i use photoshop to enhance the images.

In my camera bag

Camera Body, Lenses : 16-35mm f4, 24-70mm 2.8, 70-200 2.8, LEE filter kit, remote triggers and cable releases.
