Well focused fist. haha I even like it dark. I think you succeeded in the "gangsterish look"

Location
I took this photo at our camera club , it is a club for disabled photographer. They et up photo shoots every other week. it was my second time going to one of these shoots.Time
It was taken in the studio at about 1 pmLighting
I wanted it tpo look a bit gangster looking. had one low modle light and one small snoot.Equipment
Nikon D7100, Tamron 90mm Macro les. 2 studio lights black back ground.Inspiration
I was chatting to the model for a bit, chatting about Tattoos, this gave me the idea of the shot. wish i had a gun to put in his hand think it would of made the shot more powerfull. did not have one so found some big rings and went with a fist, to give the photo some power.Editing
Yews i use light room a lot. I darned the shot some more and added a little bit more light to the fist. in light room i just did a little white balance and uped the clarity to 25%, alo i just blurd the face a bit more not much as it was out of focus just tweaked it some more, apart from that that was itIn my camera bag
D7100, D3200, Nikon 18-55 lens, Tamron 10-24mm lens, Tamron 90mm macro lens, Tamron 18-200mm lens. spare batteries speed light. a few filters cleaning cloth ans liquid. thats about it.Feedback
I have only been taking photos for 2 years and am disabled, the best advice i can give and works for me is practice practice practice, listen to others and take on board what is relevant to you. Don't be afraid to try things out if they don't work delete and try it another way just don't give up. Photography is a learning art and you never stop learning. know your camera and equipment inside and out BUT! most of all have fun with it!as soon as it stops being fun you not going to get any better in my eyes.
