The photo was taken in Barmera, South AustraliaTime
Early morning shot around 8:00 amLighting
The sky was crystal clear. Not what most landscape photographers look for as a rule but the lake was so calm, I felt that the sky echoed the serenity.Equipment
Nikon D800E, Tamron 24-70mm f2.8, hand held.Inspiration
The scene was calming and the simplicity and clean lines created interest. The intersection of the horizon and the end of the jetty created a connection that drew the eye to the horizon and the slight imperfection on the right hand side attracted my eye to the edge of the frame. The closeness of the jetty on the right hand side pulled my eye downwards, back to the jetty and the whole process started all over again.Editing
Post processing was quite simple for this image. Lightroom is my choice for post processing.Conversion to black and white. sensor spot removal, small boost in clarity, contrast and blacks boost. In my camera bag
Nikon gear.... D810 these days, Tokina 16-28mm, f2.8 Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 (this is on the camera 95% of the time unless I'm out shooting stars or auroras, then its the 16-28mm) Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 2x teleconverterFeedback
SLOW DOWN! The more shots you take the more post processing you will need to do and ultimately, the less time you will be out with your camera!
