Mesa Arch Sunrise @ Canyonlands National Park, Utah.
Cozy on up and plant your tripod...you will not be alone. Truly a spectacle to witness in person. Mother Nature really knows how to show off at this venue. This was the "2nd showing" of sunrise. The first starburst occurs as the sun breaks the horizon, but the problem is the lack of reflected light on the under belly of this arch. Waiting for the 2nd starburst to occur (when the sun crosses the underside of the arch) occurs just about the time the masses were packing up. So by all means, don't leave too early since I found the colors to be much richer about 1-2 hour after the first starburst.
Afterwards, head on back to Moab and stop by the Jailhouse Cafe for a cup of Joe and breakfast...best in town.

Awesome shot. Love the colors. I have spent some time in Moab myself but as of yet I have not been to Mesa Arch. I plan to make it here in a couple of months.

If this is a photo taken by Jared Weaver of Boise Idaho, it is a shame that I cannot downvote it. I will never vote for your pictures, you CONservative fool.

Hello erongy, Thank you for the phenominal info underneath "When Tomorrow Comes" Living in Southern Ontario & Great Lakes region To be able to afford getting to Mesa Arch is beyond my reach, Disabililty leaves me as a "REAL" starving artist, I can leave messages and look at others images which is better than peanut butter sandwiches two times a day
