I went on a tour of the RTC building in Fergus Falls on a tour. It has been empty since 2009, but they give guided tours every Friday and on some Saturday afternoons. The two-hour tour is fantastic; you walk around the whole complex on the inside; the only place we didn't go was to the basement, which has had some water problems in previous years.

This is a fantastic building; and one of about 30 Kirkbride-designed buildings left in the United States. This building is also the most complete Kirkbride building remaining; all of the others have been modified or have had parts of the original buildings demolished.

Unfortunately, the city council wants to demolish the building and make the property into "green space". There is an online petition and a Facebook group (Save the Kirkbride) that is trying to save the building from demolition.
