The photo was taken at around 11am, I wanted the beach to be a perfect light and I got exactly what I envisagedLighting
It is all natural light, it was a perfect dayEquipment
This was shot on a Nikon D500,with an 18-55mm f/11.0 lens, no other equipment was usedInspiration
I had a vision of ballerinas by the beach as my daughter studies full-time ballet, I put a call out on Facebook asking for ballerinas and I got these amazing girls, my vision became more then reality in the shoot and the photos are amazingEditing
No the lighting was so perfect that I just enhanced the image, no other processing was used - it was a brilliant autumn day on the Gold Coast and perfect conditionsIn my camera bag
At the time in my bag I was still a newbie practising what I loved and had the Nikon D500 body with two lenses, I have since upgraded to the Nikon D610 with a 28-300mm lens, so I carry the 18-55mm lens as well a 50mm and a speed light SB 700Feedback
Plan ahead, I always plan the shots I want to take, the Gold Coast is unique in that its weather is pretty much perfect all of time and I love shooting dancers, the timing has to be on all the time, it helps having these amazing models that are at the top of their game and work together so well, plan plan plan, I chose a really hot day which helped in my colours
