"The Mysteries of Qualia" | Beja, Alentejo (Portugal
I've always felt a huge fascination with sunflowers. I don't know how to explain it, but I just feel it. When I thought about that, my brain immediatly started shooting endless cognitive theories to explain it, but I quickly silenced it. You don't always need to explain, as there's something remarkably intangible in the act of appreciating beauty. Philosophers call it "qualia".

After many years wishing to shoot a field of sunflowers, I finally found when near my birthplace! For a change, this is not a long exposure. I arrived to this location mid afternoon, with the sun still high but a fantastic sky bursting with clouds. It was impossible to properly expose for the strong sun, even using ND Grad filters, so I opted to filter it with the tree, framing the composition with the two main foreground sunflowers.
Sony a77 + Sigma 10-20mm
Aperture: f9
Shutter speed: 1-100sec
