Location
I took this photo at Red Rock Crossing in Sedona, Arizona.Time
It was later afternoon when I arrived at the creek - between 4-6 p.m.Lighting
The light on Cathedral Rock (the most photographed rock formation in Sedona) is best in most photographer's opinions close to sunset.Equipment
I used a Canon 5D Mark II with a 17-40mm lens - handheldInspiration
Sedona is my home and I love finding new ways to see it. I post daily on my Facebook page and when I was sitting with my feet in the water, I thought this would make a great photo, from a unique perspective that isn't the typical 'Cathedral Rock' shot.Editing
Post process for me is all about simplicity. I only adjusted highlights and shadows and that's about it!In my camera bag
I carry a Canon 5D Mark II with 24-105; 17-40; 14 and 8mm lenses, a GoPro Hero 4 and a trusted iPhone 6 with olloclip lenses.Feedback
The trick to this shot is simply vantage point. Don't be afraid to get wet, dirty or down into the thick of it to get your shot. This one was all about a fast shutter speed to capture the running water and bubbles, while perched over the flow of water.
