Location
This photo was taken on base of Mt Shasta in Northern California at Panther Meadows Campground.Time
This was taken around 11pm.Lighting
To get the tent to have the orange glow I pointed my headlamp on the tent while taking the picture. It took a lot of trial and error to get the exact shot I wanted.Equipment
This was taken with a Canon 70d and Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens, with a manfrotto tripod.Inspiration
I took a month long road trip with one of my friends and I wanted to capture where we camped every night of the trip. This was one of the best camping nights we had, due to the amazing sky filled with stars. I really wanted to capture how amazing the sky was that night.Editing
I did very little editing in Adobe Photoshop. In my camera bag
I always have my Canon 70d, Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM, Tokina SD 11-16 F2.8 DX II, Intervalometer, GoPro, and Manfrotto Tripod packed in my bag.Feedback
Its all about location and waiting for the right conditions. I camped out many different nights of the summer and only had very few good nights to shoot the stars. The stars are best seen at a new moon and in a remote location with no light pollution. It takes a lot of experimenting with the settings to get the photo exactly how you want it. You have to be very patient to get the right shot.
