A bit of that beautiful overwhelming feeling you get when you see an extraordinary view. Point made!

Location
I took this photo in Warfield, England, UK It is in an area near the parish church and has some public footpaths through the fields and is a favourite place for me go to try to get a few shots.Time
This was taken around 20:00 on the 6th of May. I noticed that the sky had some interesting potential and asked two of my kids if they fancied running around the fields and maybe taking some photos.Lighting
This was all natural lighting but it would have been worth considering a flash to highlighting my kids.Equipment
Part of the reason I was keen to go out was that I had recently bought a Sigma dp1Merrill which shoots on a fixed focal length lense of 19mm. A tripod was used, which was an old Velbon of some sort.Inspiration
I was quite excited to see my two children getting involved in this photo run-around. In the spur of the moment I turned my camera towards them instead of just trying for the landscape that I originally set out. (I did of course take a few snaps of my own.)Editing
The workflow for the Raw file that a Sigma camera produces is a real chore. It starts in their proprietary software, Photo Pro which I use to do very light shadow, highlight adjustment and then to export as a tiff into Lightroom. As I was quite new to this software in May and I ended up with some over-saturation and blue tint in the grass area. Once in Lightroom I performed all of the usual universal adjustments. Some final adjustments were achieved in Photoshop and Topaz Clarity. In my camera bag
My bag is getting heavier as I am collecting a few things that I like to carry about... I have three cameras and four lenses. My general camera is a Canon 700d, for certain things I also have the Sigma dp1Merrill, and recently I have added a EOS 620 for 35mm film. I currently use a 3 Legged Thing Brian tripod which I really like after the old Velbon. For lenses: 18-55mm kit lense (which I rarely use), 50mm 1.8, 20mm 2.8, 40mm 2.8. Variety of film, remote releases, Triggertrap cable all in a Lowpro Fastpack 350AWFeedback
Three things: 1. Well it might be obvious but a tripod is really important for this declining light situations (especially as a landscape was intended). 2. If you see the weather being willing to participate, take advantage of it. 3. The most important thing that I would wish people to take away is that it is worth looking to see what else, what else would be great in frame even if this isn't what you had set out to shoot.
