Location
This photo was taken in Louisville, KY on an old country road full of trees.Time
The time of day was about 7pm.Lighting
I wanted it to be later in the day so the sun would be going down and shinning through the trees hitting the car from behind and giving off some nice shadows.Equipment
I was using my Nikon D610 and the 14-24 2.8 shot at 18mm. The only other equipment I was using is my wife's car. As she was driving I was hanging out the passenger side window trying to get as low as possible for that perfect shot. As my friends were driving their Boss 302, I had them match our speed at about 50 mph.Inspiration
I love cars, especially Mustangs, I've had several of these cars. When Ford came out with this special car I knew I had to shoot it. I did a whole photo session with this car. I wanted some other shots of the car other than just sitting there looking good, so after the shoot we went looking for a nice country road.Editing
Basically this is the shot right out of the camera. I did do some small post-processing in Lightroom, the usual stuff with the sliders, exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows...things like that.In my camera bag
I have my Nikon D610, wide angle lens, portrait lens and a zoom lens. I take some speed lights with me and a tripod, that's about it.Feedback
Don't be afraid to get out there and make mistakes. You won't know unless you try, and it might take several times to get it right. With this shot I'm writing about I didn't get it right in the first take, it took several times up and down the road to get that perfect one. If I would of given up after the first or second or third try I wouldn't of been able to capture this shot. So keep trying things and don't give up.
