Location
This was taken in an indoor pool in a hotel on the way to New York. My brother willingly posed for me.Time
This photo was taken in the early morning, before we had to check out of our hotel. It was probably about 9 in the morning, we wanted a last minute swim before getting back in the car.Lighting
The lighting was all natural and came from the huge windows surrounding the indoor pool.Equipment
I used a Canon Rebel t3i and a Canon 1.4 50mm lens for this shot.Inspiration
I really wanted to experiment with water which led me to asking him to basically use his mouth to projectile some of the pool water above him.Editing
I upped the contrast and saturation to make the colors very vibrant in this shot.In my camera bag
My kit is pretty simple, I have a canon t3i, and Canon 1.4 50mm lens. However when I shoot self portraits I incorporate my tripod for the perfect shotFeedback
Play around with your shooting area. Water can be a really versatile prop, as you can get so many different effects just based on your shutter speed!
