Americas Cup World Series - Newport, RI. These High Performance Catamarans are 44ft long, 22ft across, 77ft tall and weigh about 3,000 lbs. They are capable of sailing at 2-3x the wind speed and able to accelerate rapidly. For the 2013 Americas Cup in San Francisco the event was changed to be more fan interactive and pure sailing.
