Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at the Edinburgh Zoo.

Time

Around noon, with tourists all over the place trying to get the best shot

Lighting

Only daylight, it was a soft light created by the overcast.

Equipment

I used a handheld Canon 60D, without any additional equipment

Inspiration

I feel attracted to wild animals and especially to cats. If they're big, even more so! :)

Editing

I increased the sharpness of the image and lit it up u bit.

In my camera bag

Canon 6d, Canon 60D, Canon 24-105mm L lens, Canon 50mm lens, Canon 430EXII speedlite, tripod, batteries

Feedback

If you go to a zoo with the intent of capturing great images, you have to be patient. Patient towards the waves of tourists that want to take 50 snapshots with their phones of themselves and the animals in the same shot, and towards the animals, that may reveal a majestic aspect of themselves in any moment. Wildlife photography (even in a zoo) favours the stoic!
