Jake, this is a really telling shot. As mentioned by others, this face and backdrop each have their own stories to tell. But something that caught my eye is that this image reminds me of an Icelandic photographer, Ragnar Axelsson. He has a similar photo, different backdrop, different face, but a very similar theme. Very powerful!
