Talk about being in the right place at the right time! It was the first really clear day after the big floods of 2013 in Colorado, and we left camp before dawn hoping to make the top of Trail Ridge Road before sunrise. We were running late and, when we saw the full moon just setting over the ridge with the light of the morning sun creeping down the slope, we gave up all hope of a mountaintop sunrise to take advantage of this perfect situation.
