ANSWERS:GENERAL: (back to top) 1 What are the rules of using ViewBug? For the detail rules please read the Terms & Conditions. 2 How Many files can I upload? Currently you can upload unlimited number of files. ViewBug is a safe and fun option for you to keep all your media files stored online for easy sharing! 3 Are my files ever deleted? No, your files are never deleted , unless you do so. 4 Who is behind ViewBug? We are a small team of young, independent and creative individuals that are committed on offering a web service that promotes creativity and awards originality and quality. By providing a safe back up for all your media files, we allow our users to share their art in a fun way with many opportunities to win cash where users are motivated to interact with our team and other users. We believe that it’s just but fair to give back to the community and to the users, because our users is what keeps our company running! Find out more about us. 5 What is the BugWorld? The BugWorld is the section in the site where you can explore and see what is happening in real time. You will see a small snapshot of users, files and activity as well as a tag cloud. 6 How are winners paid? Winning files are rewarded through PAYPAL. After a media file is selected a winner, the user will get a notification via email with a quick instruction on how to retrieve the money through PAYPAL. Payments are generally done within 3 business days.
WEEKLY WINNERS: (back to top) 7 Am I eligible to be a weekly winner? Every media file uploaded to ViewBug is automatically eligible to be a weekly winner. Weekly winners are chosen from all the files. Not necessarily from the files uploaded in the current week. 8 What is a suggestion? Can I suggest any media file as a weekly winner? Suggestions are unofficial user votes that allows our judges to see the most popular files within ViewBug, Winners are not selected based upon suggestions but it does helps filter potential winning files. Yes, any member can suggest any media file to be a weekly winner. User suggestions are not the last word to decide who are the weekly winners but they do help our judging panel to see what files are liked by the members! 9 How many media files can I suggest as a weekly winner? You can suggest as many files as you want. Go ahead and have some fun! 10 Are weekly winner only selected from files uploaded this week? No. Weekly winners are selected from all the files uploaded at any time. A file uploaded 1 year ago can be a weekly winner this week! 11 How does ViewBug choose the weekly winners? Weekly winners are chosen by our judging panel based on the artistic composition, creativity and originality of the art. 12 Who chooses the weekly winners? Our judging panel chooses the weekly winners. Our judging panel consists of accomplished artists. Read more... 13 Is there a maximum number of winners chosen every week? No. The amount of weekly winners depends on the judges. 20 to 30 files are usually chosen every week. 14 Can I be chosen a weekly winner more than once? Yes! There is no limit to how many times you can be selected to be a weekly winner. 15 How will I get paid? You will be paid through your PAYPAY account. You can open a FREE PAYPAL account if you do not have one yet. 16 When will I get paid? Weekly winner files are announced on Mondays. You will usually get paid within 1 to 3 business days.
CHALLENGES:(back to top) 17 How do I enter a challenge? Any member can participate in any challenge. Visit the challenge community and click on the join button. You can start uploading right away after that. 18 How many files can be uploaded to a challenge? It depends on the challenge guidelines. Please read the instructions in the challenge community. 19 How does ViewBug choose the challenge winners? Challenge winners are chosen by our judging panel based on the artistic composition, creativity and originality of the art. 20 Who judges the media in a challenge? ViewBug judges. DOODLES: (back to top) 24 What is the doodle application? The doodle application is a tool that allows you to have fun with your photos. You can paint on them and add icons to make them fun to share with friends and family. 25 How many doodles can I do? As many as you like! 26 How can I share a doodle with a friend or family? You will be shown many sharing options right after you are done doodling a photo, you will not miss it! If you want to share a doodle that you did a while ago you can always go to the doodle page and click on the share icon.
MEDIA: (back to top) 27 How do I upload a file? Just click on the upload button after signing up for a free membership. 28 How can I import my media from Flickr? Within your account select the import tab and choose what photos you want to import to viewbug. Sharing them here is more fun! 29 Can anybody comment on my files? Any member can comment on your files. We limit comments to members only in order to safeguard the integrity of your files. 30 How do I make an album of my favorite media? Click on the My Media tab in MY ACCOUNT page and click on the manage link under the album section. Choose a name to your album, click on the plus sign and start adding media. Click on the save button when your done adding media to your album. 31 Can I delete files that I have uploaded? Yes. You can do so from inside MY ACCOUNT page. Click on the My Media tab, click on manage photos, videod or music and select what media file you want to delete. 32 Can I embed my viewbug media on my website? Yes. Every file that you upload has a unique embed code for you to use in your personal webpage. You can also embed an icon that will direct your webpage guests to your viewbug media files. You can do this within your account. 33 Can I upload using my phone? Yes. In MY Account page click on the Mobile tab and you will see a personalized viewbug email address that was specifically created for you. 1. Create a ViewBug contact in your phone’s address book. 2. Add this email address to the ViewBug contact. 3. Take a photo using your phone and email that photo to ViewBug. The photo will appear in your profile for you to share! 34 How does the Bug Eye rating work? Bug Eye rating is the ViewBug way for users and visitors to qualify files based upon their opinion from 1 Eye (bad rating) to 5 Eyes (great rating). Bug Eye rating does not affects our Judges decisions for winning files. 35 What is a Bug Favorite? Bug Favorites are files selected by the ViewBug staff to be Featured files in the homepage and the Bug World. It is a way to reward our users with world wide exposure. All users selected as a Bug Favorite receive a notification Email. SHARING: (back to top) 36 How do a share a media file? Select the file that you want to share and click on the share icon. You will be given many different sharing options. You can email, embed, post in blogs, etc. Plese check your pop-up block preferences and turn it off if you do not see the share options. 37 How can I share an entire album? Go to your album page and click on the share button. The recipient will get a link to the album main page where they will be able to choose how to view you photos! 38 Can I share my photos only to friends and family? We are working on a new feature that will allow you to choose who to share your files with. You will be able to select your files as public or private and if private you will be able to choose who can see them.
TAGS: (back to top) 39 What are tags? Tags are words. This is a way of categorizing your images. If you take a photo of a car at the beach you can tag your photo with the words: car, beach. You photo will show up if someone does a search with the word car. 40 Is there a limit to the number of tags I can add to a media file? No. You can categorize your file as much as you want!
COMMUNITIES: (back to top) 41 How do I start a community? Within my account page click on the communities tab and click on “create a community” link. Assign a name and description to your community, give it a privacy level and choose an avatar. You can now share your new community with friends an family 42 How can I join a community? Public communities can be joined by anyone. Visit the community and click on the join button. Private communities can be joined by invitation from a community member only. You can send a message to any member and ask them to invite you! Special communities can be joined by invitation from the community leader only. You can send a message to the leader and ask him to invite you! Charity communities can be joined by anyone. 43 What is a charity community? Charity communities have a specific goal to put together a pool of users and files. When such goal is reached, ViewBug will donate the set amount to the Non-Profit Organization described in the charity. Are you passionate about a specific NPO? You can help! Suggest a charity community to viewbug, promote it, reach your goal and viewbug will donate the set amount. 44 How can I start a charity community? Visit the communities’ page and click on the “suggest a charity community” link. Fill out the charity application form. This is a great way to interact with people, share and see great files and help the causes that you are passionate about! 45 How can I upload media to a community? 1 Log in to ViewBug and visit the desired community or challenge 2 Click on the join community link 3 Click on the add/edit media link 4 Choose the media you want to add 5 Click on Community Dashboard link 46 How can I administer a community? It is easy and fun to be a community leader. You can upload, monitor and remove files, invite members, post news items, create and participate in conversations. You can do all of the above when logged in and within your community page.
MY ACCOUNT: (back to top) 47 I forgot my password! Click on the “forgot password” link in the log in page. You will be sent your password via email. Sometimes emails get sent to the spam folder, make sure to check the spam folder if you do not see the email in your inbox. 48 How can I change my password? You can change your password within the edit page in your account. 49 How can I import my photos from flickr? Within your account, click on the import tab and follow the easy instructions. 50 How do I personalize and manage my account? You can put your personal touch to your account within the settings tab in My Account page. You can change your avatar, your background photo as well as your about me description. 51 What are bug actions? Bug actions is a list that shows the activities that you and your favorite people are doing in viewbug. This great tool allows you to get a snapshot of what your favorite people have done in the last couple of days. 52 How do I change my status? Go to your public profile and click on my status section to write and update. |
