Grand Jury Winner

"This seemingly simple composition is actually a very rich fusion of symmetry, concentric circles and leading lines created by a tunnel that protects the viewer from the outside world.  The monochromatic treatment might foreshadow a dystopian society and this is the only safe passage.  The tunnel is the primary subject in the photo, but there was a skillful eye that combined a cityscape and so much more.   The soft shadows under the stark structure are really pleasing too.  Well done!" - Brad Olson

Runner Up

"This photograph has an implied narrative where the tunnel is only part of a much more interesting story. The woman's expression isn't clear to me; is she anticipating a rendezvous or pondering an escape? Either way, I want to know more.   I also like the minimal color palette and the shallow depth of field. It is almost a movie poster.   I'd watch it!" - Brad Olson

Runner Up

"This long exposure creates an abstract image that artistically defines the shape, the movement and the rich purpose of a tunnel.  It's visually satisfying and a very creative example of this theme." - Brad Olson
