Grit And Glory Photo Contest Winners
Thank you to all the photographers that shared their photos showing moments of courage and strength of character in this photo contest in collaboration with Chris Orwig. Chris is an best-selling author, teacher, photographer, and creator of more than 80 courses at lynda.com. He regularly speaks on creativity and photography and has been invited to speak at places like the Google headquarters and on the TEDx stage. Whether shooting photographs, speaking, or writing books, Chris inspires others to become more creative and to lead better lives. "There were a lot of great photos which made it hard to decide. Some photos were "crafted" and others "captured moments". Both types worked well. And many of the photos worked to illustrate the idea of "Grit" or "Glory". Yet, few expressed both. The winning photo shows both determination (grit) and the closed eyes (glory). You can almost imagine the jumper visualizing the glory of a successful jump. And the thing I liked about this photo was the feeling. While there were others that we more technically correct, this one had a great timeless and natural feel about it. Well done!" - Chris Orwig
