Gail Bowman, a self-taught fashion photographer:
"I got a later start than most on my journey in photography. It wasn’t until after my children were born that I discovered I had such a passion for it. I enjoy creating story lines with raw, mysterious, implied themes centered around high fashion. I’m spontaneous and like varying lighting and locations. I get bored with the same location and theme, so I have to constantly change it up. I use music as inspiration for my story lines, so I am always looking for new music in all genres. The music channels my creativity; I guess that comes from my singing background. I thrive in a relaxed environment where fun is the name of the game. I don’t like stress, it makes my team nervous and less effective. My work has been published in Trans World Surf Magazine, Bay Fashion Magazine, Uptempo Magazine, Dark Beauty Magazine, Etoilee Magazine and on VOGUE Italia website. I was the cover and editorial photographer for the inaugural 12 issues of FCMagazine and supplied the covers of various local San Diego magazines over the years, including Fashion 5.0 and Brick Road Magazine. I had a fun-filled afternoon photographing Sam the Cooking guy for a feature article in Fashion 5.0. I’ve had the pleasure of working with some amazing models from ANTM, with LA Ink’s Ruthless, top fashion models, actors, top model agencies and recently shot with Natalie Pack, Miss California USA 2012. I have photographed for amazing designers like as Emah Savahl and Ines di Santo. Most recently, I was selected to be the main ad campaign photographer for the San Diego Fashion Week 2012 coming to San Diego this Fall."
