Byron Excelon Generating Station. These two units are capable of producing 2336 MW of electricity for the city of Chicago; enough for approximately 2 million average American homes. Photographed on Sept. 12, 2011 during the peak of the midwest harvest moon, this station sits in the middle of a couple thousand acres of farmland. The towers hum in the blackness, as the corn stalks rustle in the brisk night air. Sound travels across the fields, like on a lake - perfect for long exposures and vivid imaginations.
