Michael is also the guest judge for this photo contest. Michael has been a fixture in the photography industry for over seven years. His photography journey started as a hobby, primarily learning his way around a DSLR by shooting landscapes around his home in San Francisco, California. Soon, he started accepting paid assignments, from commercial ad campaigns to weddings, but his passion for traveling with camera in hand was too great to ignore.

"I love storm images, and this is one of the best ones I have seen. The composition to capture the supercell a little off center to allow the tail to add depth to the scene makes this a winner. The textured lower end of the super cell leading up to the smooth top makes the scene seem eerie, and something you might see in a movie. This shot has it all. Drama, depth and a story. Well done. "What a capture! The timing and luck that went into capturing this is awesome. I can’t even imaging having a moment like this unfold in front of me. You can see the expressions on their faces, and this photo tells a story. The only reason why this isn’t the winner is because the back ends were cut off. If the sea lion bodies were captured in the entire frame, this may have been the winner. Awesome shot nonetheless. Congratulations!" - Michael Bonocore
